About the Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP): The Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) is an independent regulatory body dedicated to fostering a competitive environment in all spheres of the economy. In line with its mandate, the CCP is seeking talented and qualified professionals for its Information Systems & Technology (IS&T) Department.

1. Deputy Director – Network Operations and Cyber Security

Number of Positions: 1

Academic Qualification:

• A minimum of a four-year Bachelor’s degree from an HEC-recognized local or foreign university in either Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, Networking, or a related field.

Professional Experience:

• A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in managing enterprise network/systems infrastructure, operations, and cyber security. This includes network design, monitoring, troubleshooting, and vendor coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure and highly available enterprise networks (LAN, WAN, VPN, etc.).
• Monitor network performance, usage, and capacity to proactively resolve issues and minimize downtime.
• Manage and configure core network devices including switches, routers, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Perform system administration tasks related to domain controllers, email servers, DNS/DHCP, and virtualization platforms.
• Ensure enforcement of network security policies and procedures, including firewalls, access control lists, and intrusion prevention systems.
• Coordinate with Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and other vendors for network security and access management.
• Plan and implement network upgrades, redundancy, and disaster recovery plans.
• Perform root cause analysis for network outages and service degradation.
• Support cybersecurity and disaster recovery efforts through network hardening and business continuity planning.

2. Assistant Director – Database Systems

Number of Positions: 1

Academic Qualification:

• A minimum of a four-year Bachelor’s degree from an HEC-recognized local or foreign university in either Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or Database Management.

Professional Experience:

• A minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in database systems management in a similar role. This involves responsibilities related to database design, implementation, optimization, and ensuring data integrity and security.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable database architectures for business enterprise applications.
• Administer and optimize relational and non-relational databases such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.
• Ensure database performance, tuning, and high availability.
• Manage backup and restoration procedures, and develop and implement database security policies.
• Assist with disaster recovery plans and failover mechanisms.
• Collaborate with application development teams.
• Troubleshoot complex database issues.
• Assist in preparing for critical system upgrades.
• Monitor performance, backups, data security, and access control.
• Design ER diagrams, normalization, indexing, and query optimization.

General Terms and Conditions:

• The appointments will be on a contract basis for an initial period of two (02) years, extendable subject to satisfactory performance.
• Only shortlisted candidates will be called for a test and/or interview. The CCP reserves the right to reject or postpone appointments.
• The age relaxation of 3-5 years may be granted under applicable rules.
